Day of Remembrance

For the past three years I have been photographing the Day of Remembrance ceremony in San Jose, California's Japantown. This ceremony commemorates the anniversary of Executive Order 9066 that led to the forced incarceration of 120,000 Americans of Japanese descent (two-thirds of whom were American citizens). The photo below was taken at night during the candlelight march through San Jose's Japantown.
